“It takes a different mindset to be successful in anything; that’s why there’s not a lot of super-duper successful people, because it’s guys I know who may be ten times more talented than me, but they don’t work as hard.” – Rico Love
Just imagine, for a while, that you have been stripped off of all your belongings. Let’s supposed that a flood came and destroyed everything that you owned, or someone stole everything.
Now, if you have acquired all those lost things by your own efforts, whether directly or indirectly, don’t you think that, if you do the same things and meet the same people or go to the same places and apply the same method that you could somehow build, create or collect those same things again? Or maybe even better things, because now that you have more experience and got better taste? Be honest with yourself now, and if you can say yes, then wouldn’t you agree that it is you, or more specifically your mind, your thoughts, feelings, and your perception of the world that matters? Wouldn’t you agree that it is not anyone or anything outside of you that made your life the way it is now?
Any high net worth individual that you know, anyone that has amassed wealth or fortune by their effort, any self-made individual, the same can be said of them. You see, they may lose their millions. But if they don’t accept themselves as a failure, and start working again, it will be a matter of time before you see them in their same stature and position. Real, hardcore entrepreneurs can rebuild their business from scratch, every single time. It is law. And the law is as strong as gravity. Why? because it’s all mindset. It is an inner game. And how? well, they just do what they have been doing, following the same systems and processes with amplified alertness and experience.
A live study has been done with the TV Show, “Undercover Billionaires” on Channel “Discovery Plus” in which a successful entrepreneur is dropped into a remote community with little resources and has 90 days to create a successful company. They could not use their name or their phone, only $100 handed to them in a city they have never been to. Imagine that, they cannot use their own name! how hard would that be? watch any episode of it.
In the analogy I gave in the beginning, I supposed they can use their name.
Now you may be thinking of those who have inherited or were gifted. Well, if they inherited, and the fortune is in their control and they don’t have the awareness and education of how to keep and maintain it then it is just a matter of time before the fortune will dwindle and bring them to their level of education, attitude and mindset. It won’t last, we always get what we deserve (with our current mindset).
If you don’t deserve what you are having, sooner or later what you currently have will gravitate away from you. And what you inherently deserve (mindset) will gravitate towards you, be it the worse things or better things. But you can always be better and deserve more by changing your mindset. We can do that by being a better person, be learning, observing and by applying what you know. When you make the most of what you currently have you are telling God or the Universe that you are able to handle more of it. And more will be given to you.
If you don’t use your talent, another person without your talent and with less qualification but is working hard will eventually get recognition and rewards. Unrecognized talent is so common. When you use what you have, be it talent or time or money and invest them wisely, you will be the best that you can be. Soon, you will realize that you can be more and do more, and more will you do. And the world will see your results and achievements and comment or criticize according to their level of awareness. That is not you.
You only know how you got those achievements. And you should not care what they say because they don’t know you and your hard work. Now, you will want to be more and do more and that is a good thing. The better products or services you provide, and the more people do it, the better the world will be. And you will be satisfied in your old age that you did your best, that you left no stone unturned. Don’t we all wish the same feeling in old age? That feeling of having accomplished, being fulfilled?
“Individuals in a growth mindset don’t simply look for challenge, they blossom with it. The greater the challenge, the more they stretch.” – K. Orient
